WebMD, a consumer health website, is well known for its praising of ObamaCare. What is not commonly known is that they are also getting millions of dollars under a federal contract to educate doctors about practicing medicine under ObamaCare.
As reported in The Washington Times, WebMD has not exactly bent over backwards to inform readers of the agreement, even while it publishes articles that refer to the law in a positive way.
However, the Times has reviewed documents that show the
company has a $4.8 million agreement with the federal government, through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, to inform doctors and other health care workers about portions of the AHC (Obamacare) health care law.
Kathleen Sebelius, HSS (Health and Human Services) Secretary, has also given praise to the website without mentioning that such a contract exsists.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has raised concerns about the contract and has told the Washington Times that "disclosure and transparency would be a good practice for any recipient of federal funding to promote the administration's health care plan."
