General Obama on Newsweek;GOP: If you're Old, or White - You're History!

Newsweek will soon be eliminating its print publication, announcing that it will be going all digital. That means that you won't be seeing the outlandish covers while standing in the checkout line at your local supermarket. So catch this one while you can.

They're going out with a bang - and a big bang - with this week's cover release. Obama is depicted as Napoleon Bonaparte - dressed in the glorious, classic uniform and pose that we've come to associate with the victorious general. The headline reads, "The Obama Conquest".  Implying victory after the battle. Apparently a battle that was won with the 2012 election. Now the question still remains: Will he win the war?

Will this cover add to racial unrest in America? Array Of Emotions

  1. So, Obama and the democrats represent young blacks? Oh yeah - that's the demographic segment we need running the country. I think that people of color, as they like to say, better understand that this world of wondrous technology (including Obama Phones) and prosperity came largely from the efforts of the white male. Now, people of color not only want all the goodies for themselves - they want to get rid of the guys that made it all possible! Look to the southern border of the U.S. and see where America's future is headed. You want to live like that? It's coming!

  2. If you notice, the letters in the left hand corner of the cover read, "GOP". All this headline means is that the magazine seems to think that republicans are going to have to dump the old guys and bring in people of color if they want to win. That's all it means. It is an argument that their party is having. It's really not a racist thing it all. They talk about it a lot and especially since the election.

    1. Are you serious? The racist overtones are obvious. It's meant to rile people up. Look how they made the background a bit darker behind the "GOP ". They don't even want you to see it. Nice try!

    2. I agree. If you view the elements of the page, the picture, the conquest phrase and the old white guy thing it's pretty obvious what they're trying to do with this cover.

  3. Well, it's the top line that catches my eye, "GOP: YOU'RE OLD, YOU'RE WHITE, YOU'RE HISTORY!"
It's pretty accurate, but it would be more accurate if it said:
"GOP: YOU'RE OLD, YOU'RE WHITE, YOU'RE HISTORY - AND YOU DID IT TO YOURSELVES!"

You did it to yourselves because, unlike your iconic President Abraham Lincoln, you didn't stand up for the borders of your own country. During your watch, millions of Latinos from foreign lands walked across your country as if you weren't even there. And now, now that it's too late, you finally realize that the country has turned into something you never dreamed it would be - a nation ruled by people of color.

Understand, that the country didn't turn brown because of a growth in the population of African Americans. The population of African Americans has remained stable for many decades and is expected to remain stable for decades to come. The country turned brown because of the influx of millions of Latinos who speak their own language, and who, unlike you, are unafraid to stand up for their own race. But more alarming than that, this same group is birthing babies (as 14th Amendment U.S. citizens) as fast as they can, because they understand the inevitable political power that comes from doing so.

It's not too late to prevent America from becoming a Latino ruled nation, but the eleventh hour is here. Are you going to turn back the illegal immigrants while the rule of law is on your side? Or are you going to do as the Democrats have done, subvert your own nation's laws, grant amnesty, and surrender the country to them?

  4. Not too late? What are we to do? Latinos have taken over. And they brag about it.Even the blacks just move aside.

  5. I don't have much of a problem with the picture of Obama all dressed up like Napoleon Bonaparte. He won the election, and all that, so he and his friends can gloat.

But the thing about old white guys is kind of strange. Let's suppose that "The Obama Conquest" refers to one article and the old white guys headline refers to another. Some editor had to decide to put both on the cover at the same time. Was that because the editor is a little naive and insensitive?

If this same cover appeared on The Weekly Standard or The National Review (conservative publications) there would be outrage in the main stream media; calling the publisher racist and incendiary.

But since it's put out by one of their own, obviously, there's no racist implications. What they will say is that if you see anything racist about it - that actually proves that you're the racist. Sure. We get it. The main stream media see everything through racist eyes. It's always about color.

  6. This is an unbelievably fascist price of propaganda. Imagine how this looks to the Bowen people being hit with drone strikes every day across the globe.
Has my beloved liberalism become the new authoritarianism? I wanted a uniter not a divider.

  7. If the illustrator had intended to clearly invoke Napoleon, he would have included a hat. With Washington, a wig. This figure is a mockery by way of putting Obama in the clothes of his “betters”. Napoleon was the original Little Big Man – someone who overcompensates for his “natural” shortcomings by ripping up everything within his range. Clearly, Obama will not be favorably compared to Washington, especially by those right-wing fundamentalists who worship the founding fathers. By visually referring to a little bit of both, the illustration just calls out Obama as a “cakewalk” negro, a humorous pretender to the throne. “The cakewalk’s original meaning was lost; where it had originally been black slaves attempt to mock their superiors and for a minute live in autonomy, it had come to be the bumbling attempts of poor blacks to mimic the manners of whites. The dancers were no longer joking, but were portrayed as genuinely wanting to be like the superiors. This interpretation held great appeal in a nation where race relations were whites’ concerns about blacks were building steadily, and it became a way to briefly escape that tension.”

  9. Personally I will not believe obama won this election. It is my choice to believe that he STOLE this electionPERIOD If you look back at all the articles that came out just before, and during the election, of all the tampering with the electronic voting machines, the tampering with absentee ballots, and the somehow misplaced votes from our veterans, what other choice do you have? Now if we can get our congress off their lazy dead butts and do what is right for "We The People". who by the way they are working for, and check these allegations out you just might see a different result.

    1. My exact thoughts ( he was electronically voted in it had nothing to do with voter choice) I personally can't find anyone whom claims to have voted for him!

    2. Allan Cantlon Likewise, I don't know anyone who voted for Romney/Ryan. Most of the people I know voted for President Obama. And NOT ONE of them, myself included, is on ANY kind of welfare, public assistance, food stamps, etc. And we're all educated. None of us are socialists, communists, etc. How do you account for that?
